How do I get to Kingfisher Cabana?

There are two main routes from Belize International Airport to our rental:

Coastal Highway – The fastest and most direct route, ideal if you’re arriving late in the evening.
Hummingbird Highway – A more scenic option if you’d like to enjoy the beautiful landscapes along the way.

Once you arrive at the airport, you can choose from the following transportation options:

🚗 Rental Car (Recommended) – For flexibility and convenience, we suggest renting a car.

Crystal Auto Rental (Website) – Offers rentals at both the airport and Belize City. They are also the only company that provides permits for taking rental cars into Guatemala.

🚐 Shuttle or Taxi – Comfortable and reliable services are available.

Belize Ground Shuttle (Website) – Provides affordable, professional transportation to and from San Ignacio, Belize City (including the airport and water taxi terminal), Placencia, and Hopkins. They will even pick up and drop off right outside the cabanas!

🚌 Bus – A budget-friendly option for getting around.

The Department of Transport provides a detailed bus schedule for travel to and from San Ignacio. Note: Buses do not currently operate along the Coastal Highway.

⛴ Water Taxi – If you’re traveling to or from the islands, water taxis are a great option.

San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi (Website) – Offers transportation between Belize City, Caye Caulker, San Pedro, and Chetumal (Mexico).

Before You Arrive

If you’d like to pick up groceries on your way to Kingfisher Cabana, your driver can stop between the airport and Mullins River. Shopping in Belize is a cultural experience, and we recommend doing it yourself to ensure you get exactly what you need.
Prefer to arrive with everything ready? We can arrange a provisioning service for $75 USD plus the cost of groceries (receipts provided).

Cooking & Dining

The cabana has a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for those who enjoy cooking or have dietary preferences.
If you’d rather dine out, we’re happy to recommend some great local restaurants where you can enjoy authentic Belizean cuisine. Just ask, and we’ll point you in the right direction!
